Whoever goes out to seek knowledge is in the cause of Allah until he returns
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Whoever goes out to seek knowledge is in the cause of Allah until he returns.”
[At-Tirmidhi].
